Minibus Driver

Zero Hours Contract

£15.10 per hour + excellent benefits

We are seeking a number of conscientious minibus drivers, for both morning and afternoon shifts to drive our students to and from our school campuses on Chaucer Road and Bateman Street and to and from our designated transport destinations.

The post is term-time only (35 weeks per year), working Monday to Friday.

The hours are slightly flexible but generally run between the following hours:

  • Morning: 7.00am-9.00am
  • Afternoon: 4.00pm-6.00pm.

Additional driving may be available on an ad hoc basis.

Applicants must be at least 21 years and have held a clean full driving license for more than 12 months.Having a driving licence with a D1 category is an advantage.

Teacher of Physical Education

Full time (including Saturday sport provision)
£30,965 - £43,671 FTE  (dependant on experience)

Situated in the heart of the academically and culturally vibrant city of Cambridge, we are a school where any girl can thrive and achieve academic excellence. A Christian school run in the Catholic tradition and founded on the principles of Mary Ward, we have a unique approach to education and an atmosphere which fosters a love of life and learning.

St Mary’s school is on a town site, the main sports field being a short minibus ride away. There is a large gym, two halls and a netball/tennis court situated on the Senior School site. At the Junior School there is a netball court, hall and gym space.

St Mary's School, Cambridge and Homerton College have formed a partnership which has led to a substantial regeneration of the school’s sports ground, located on Long Road. Owned by St Mary’s School, Cambridge, and leased to Homerton College, the site features two new AstroTurf pitches – for hockey, and for rugby and football; new netball and tennis courts; athletics facilities comprising a grass running track and field events facilities; a new pavilion, including physiotherapy room, kitchen, and changing facilities; and floodlighting.

In addition, we are partnered with City of Cambridge Rowing Club (CCRC) which enables our girls to have full access to Cambridge’s most iconic sport. We also offer rowing to girls aged 12 and above on a Saturday and Sunday morning which is directly linked to CCRC.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our department from September 2025, this teacher should be willing to teach across all age ranges, but particularly from Years 3 to 13. An ability to teach GCSE and A Level Physical Education is also desirable, but an interest in developing these skills is essential. This role therefore is ideally suited to an Early Careers Teacher. This position is ideal for candidates with extensive knowledge and teaching experience in one or more of our core sports: Netball, Hockey, Cricket, or Athletics.

Production Technician

September 2025

Permanent contract, Part time 

£22,800 per annum (dependent on experience) [£38,000 FTE]

The Drama Department at St Mary’s School, Cambridge, is a dynamic and creative environment, committed to producing high-quality, professional-standard performances. We create bespoke sets for all our productions, including our biannual productions: the Whole School musical and Upper School play. Recent productions include The Addams Family and Medea, where both the technical and performance aspects were crafted to a professional level. Our aim is always to give students the experience of working in a theatre environment that reflects industry standards, with high expectations paired with strong support.

For A Level devised performances, we work closely with students to design and build bespoke sets that bring their creative visions to life. The collaborative nature of our department ensures that students are fully supported in achieving ambitious, imaginative work. While we take pride in our high-performing ethos, the department has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, complete with regular biscuit breaks in the office, making it a welcoming and enjoyable place to work.

The successful applicant will be expected to work flexible hours but is especially required in the run up to, and during, School productions and other public events. The successful applicant will work approximately four days a week during term-time, this will include working some evenings and weekends. The exact timetable will be negotiated with the School but will require some flexibility from the successful candidate and managed by the Head of Drama.

Chef Manager

As the Chef Manager, you will be
* leading and managing a team of chefs, food services assistants and kitchen porters
* cooking and preparing dishes from scratch using seasonal ingredients
* creating exciting and nutritious menus for day to day as well as theme days
* building and maintaining a strong working relationship with colleagues and students
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, term-time only plus 6 weeks and 7 weekends.
